Healing the emotional and physical body
The healing gift of touch during your pregnancy
Massage plays an integral part of perinatal care. We know that touch "feels good" and science backs us up: skin stimulation mobilises "feel good" hormones that counteract stress and oxytocin, the "bounding and loving hormone" that - among others - improves the functioning of the placenta as well as stimulates and speeds up contractions of the uterine wall, crucial both during childbirth and postpartum.

While any form of massage is contraindicated during the first trimester, massage alleviates and releases the physical and emotional tensions stored in your tissues and helps rebalancing your hormones which undergo a rollercoaster during pregnancy.

According to Ayurveda, Garbhabhyangam, the traditional Ayurvedic massage, performed with warm medicated oils, is key to manage Vata and Pitta Dosha and nourish Kapha, responsible for stability and growth during pregnancy and for timely childbirth.
Starting from the 13th week of your gestation and until week 34 you are welcome to visit me at my practice space every 3 weeks to make sure you feel balanced. From week 34 until your expected due date, it is beneficial to receive a massage once a week: next to supporting you in finding stillness and moving inward, you will feel relieved from aches.

If you wish to create a supportive body work plan, I will be happy to assist you in your bookings: you find discounted packages on multiple treatments for Pregnancy Massage and Labor Treatment in the Price List and Bookings Page.
